Mark Davis commented on the blog post Consoleation Crystal Ball: PSN Premium 1 year, 9 months ago
There was a leak of some internal memos a while back (this winter sometime) that mentioned beta access, early demos, included video content (Qore, I assume), and Home extras on top of what you listed. And there were a few different models, some with emphasis on gaming, some with emphasis on entertainment/movies/etc, and some with [...]

Another great podcast, guys.
As for MAG: I have it, am playing it on and off, and really don’t have well formed ideas on what I think yet. As you level up you basically determine what class you will be, and the higher the level you get, the bigger maps you have… -

Doing family stuff this weekend. Once they leave: Darksiders and MAG.

Mark Davis commented on the blog post THQ emphasizes the importance of story in Metro 2033
This game looks really interesting. THQ has come out of nowhere and brought some solid games to the table recently, so I’m hoping this continues that trend. And, as always, I’m certainly glad to hear story is an actual focus of the game. Wouldn’t it be…

Mark Davis commented on the blog post GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City coming to PS3 and PC
Looks like I may have to dust off the old GTA4 disc. I really wasn’t impressed with the game but these expansions looked interesting enough to try. For the right price.

Mark Davis commented on the blog post Link’s Awakening 3D remake making progress
I really hope Nintendo lets them get by with this. As long as it’s a free project, they haven’t messed with stuff in the past… I’ll just keep telling myself that as I try to stop the drooling over this project.

Mark Davis commented on the blog post Valve’s Steam service broke records in 2009
Ever since I was forced into downloading steam to play Portal, I’ve loved my time on there. I think other digital distribution services like GOG and Impulse are just pissed that it has such a head start on them and provides such a full, almost console sort of…

themizarkshow wrote a new blog post: Directionless deliberations on Digital Distribution
With a recent kerfuffle over the fifteen dollar entry fee for an indie-game, VVVVVV, I found myself wondering how we, as gamers, justify complaining about giving a hard-working indie developer a mere fifteen bucks when most of us have probably spent that on…

themizarkshow commented on the blog post Bioshock 2 Says No to Dedicated Servers; LAN Support
It’s too bad features like this are being left out because, if the release date was really the issue, it seems like they could expand upon it with a patch or DLC. Sure, it would add to the list of people’s issues with DLC, but if having those features are…

themizarkshow commented on the blog post Looking Back: Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
This is the only Splinter Cell game I’ve played and haven’t come away with a completely “meh” feeling. Hopefully conviction is the game that changes that.

themizarkshow commented on the blog post Ubisoft details new PC DRM solution
@Alex: isn’t it up to the publishers whether their games work in offline mode? Cause I know some stuff needs an authentication connection every time and other stuff doesn’t. I think it depends on whether they use Steam’s anti-cheat stuff or not.

themizarkshow commented on the blog post XBL Marketplace February release schedule partially revealed
Splosion Man is a lot of fun. It’s difficulty definitely ramps up pretty quickly around the midway point but it lets you skip parts after dying so many times. I’d rather stay stuck until I do it on my own though. I don’t need a damn Super Guide……

themizarkshow commented on the blog post Microsoft sued over Xbox Live Points
A lot of the problems would be solved by just making 100ms pts equal a dollar instead of 80ms points. Then again, as Jamie suggested, they could just let you choose what you want to add.
The PSN lets you add just what you need to your account for the current purchase … -

themizarkshow commented on the blog post Ubisoft details new PC DRM solution
When it comes to PC gaming, I pretty much use Steam exclusively (unless it’s indie and I can’t get it there). So this isn’t anything new to me, since Steam needs internet access for the same reason.
