Michael Carusi wrote a new blog post: Gamer Limit Review: Dungeon Siege III 5 months ago
As a series, Dungeon Siege has always had an odd position in games industry. Dungeon Siege III ‘s predecessors were adequate PC dungeon crawling romps that stood in the colossal shadow of Blizzard’s incredibly popular Diablo games. While it proved to be a moderate success, the franchise seemed to fade away into obscurity shortly after release…[Read more] -

I get more and more jealous every time I hear glowing, extravagant praise about Xenoblade. Thank you, Nintendo of America, for showing you don’t want our money.

Weren’t you psyched about Catherine, Chris? Or am I thinking of someone else?

I feel personally insulted by Nintendo’s message, to be honest.

Michael Carusi wrote a new blog post: Gamer Limit Review: Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy 7 months, 2 weeks ago
As bizarre as that title looks, it’s not really symbolic. Dissidia 012 is just the prequel to the original Dissidia, which brought Final Fantasy protagonists together in one big fighting fan service throwdown. It wasn’t a triumph among fighting games but its reasonable success was in following the philosophy that if you’re going to make a [...] -

Sure, but Xenoblade and Last Story were a few of my star list members. I’ll have to check out most of those others.

YES! Finally! And to think, I was going to put The Last Story and Xenoblade on a “Wall of Shame” list of games that Nintendo hadn’t released Stateside. So much for that.

I honestly thought you were generous. I’d have given it no higher than a 2, but all the same, great review.

Look at it this way Kevin, you can’t make a flood of Vita jokes the same way you can Wii jokes.

I was excited when I noticed this was a Vice case too. I’d love it if the pending sequel for LA Noire starred Earle. He’s a really interesting character.
Great writeup, looking forward to this case!

Michael Carusi commented on the blog post Activision reveals subscription based service Call of Duty Elite 8 months, 2 weeks ago
My problem with Black Ops is that all of the marketing advertised sneaky, subtle guerrilla warfare and gritty portrayals of the Cold War, which would have been really ambitious. Instead the game was basically Modern Warfare 2 with a palette swap, which is okay to a point, but we were given all the wrong expectations.

Parasite Eve is one of those franchises that never made it out of the original PlayStation era when JRPGs fell onto Sony’s first console like autumn rain. The first two games are often held up as PlayStation classics but the series seemed to be retired after 2000 when Parasite Eve II was released in the United [...] -
Michael Carusi wrote a new blog post: Gamer Limit Review: Hard Corps: Uprising 8 months, 3 weeks ago
It takes more than a look at the title for most to recognize Hard Corps: Uprising is actually part of the venerable Contra series. The original Hard Corps a Sega Genesis game that was well-received but never made it to the level of greatness that its predecessors on the NES or even Contra III on the Super Nintendo [...] -
Michael Carusi wrote a new blog post: The Value of Sixty Dollars: Epic Games Edition 9 months, 2 weeks ago
I was disappointed to read about what Mike Capps of Epic Games said the other week . He made the claim that the ninety-nine cent mobile gaming market on iOS devices is “killing us”, the “us” specifically referring to the conventional $60 game. He questioned how you sell a $60 game that’s really worth it and that [...] -
Michael Carusi wrote a new blog post: Gamer Limit Review: Beyond Good and Evil HD 9 months, 3 weeks ago
Xbox Live and PlayStation Network are all about second chances, which is nothing if not what Beyond Good and Evil deserves. The game, which was released in 2003, was critically acclaimed but a commercial failure and the trilogy envisioned by designer Michael Ancel (best known for the Rabbids series) seemed uncertain. The series has emerged…[Read more] - Load More
